DANGEROUS DAMES
Femme Noir turns the spotlight on the women who didn’t just haunt classic noir—they defined it. While the genre is often remembered for hard-boiled men in trench coats, the 1940s quietly gave us something far more radical: complex, dangerous, ambitious, wounded, and brilliant female protagonists who bent the moral universe of noir around themselves.
Across five Sundays, we’ll explore the many faces of noir femininity through The Seventh Victim, Double Indemnity, Leave Her to Heaven, Beyond the Forest, and Mildred Pierce—films that showcase femmes fatales, anti-heroines, and morally complicated women who refuse to stay in their lane. Expect sharp dialogue, psychological tension, and performances that feel shockingly modern. The series is free for members, $20 for non-members, and available as a full series or individual screenings. We’ll also be welcoming special guest drop-ins (guests TBA) to offer insight, context, and conversation—because these women deserve more than a footnote. They deserve the big screen, with an audience ready to look again.PT2HDANGEROUS DAMES"DANGEROUS DAMES"Showtimes
